D.C. And Food!

Sorry, I’m extra excited about going to D.C. and Northern Virginia next week for a conference at Education Trust. I get to see a bunch of really close friends, attend an interesting conference and just hang out in D.C. (Where I’d love to live eventually)

My friend Stephanie, who moved to D.C. post graduation, and I have been talking about going to an Artfully Chocolate/Kingsbury Confections cafe for about a year now, after I saw it featured in Bon Appetit a while back. I’m staying with her after the conference is over for a night, and when I said we had to go there, she responded “obviously.” Apparently, there’s a location right near her apartment and she has yet to go. She clearly has more will power than I do!

Other meal plans…A mentor has said she’s making a reservation at a “lovely little French place” for lunch after I get in on Wednesday. My college roommate and I are having dinner Wednesday night. (I think that means Cheesecake Factory! Yes, I know it’s a chain, but we don’t have them in Florida, and Jess and I always go there when I visit.) And I’m set to have dinner with some friends from my college paper on Friday, hopefully. No idea what that will entail.

There’s just a lot more choices there than in Tallahassee. I can’t wait!

And now, I have to pick healthy foods for all of next week to balance out how much I will eat when I’m in D.C.! I’m thinking there will be a lot of salad. 🙂
