Did anyone ever sing the “Make New Friends” song in Girl Scouts?
Make new friends, but keep the old, one is silver and the other is gold.
I have come to the conclusion that it applies to recipes as well. I’m finally getting around to posting the new Bella Burger recipe I tried. Instead of a soy sauce base, it was balsamic vinegar-based. Now, I love balsamic vinegar on lots of things — pasta, quesadillas, Mediterranean veggie sandwiches and chicken sausage with apples slices.
But when it comes to bella burgers, it’s just OK (in my opinion). I just like the soy sauce marinade better I think.
Here’s the new recipe I tried.
Ingredients: Two portabello caps, 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar, 2 Tbsp olive oil, 1 tsp basil, dried, 1 tsp oregano, dried
1 Tbsp garlic, minced, salt and pepper to taste
Directions: Rinse bella burgers and remove stems ( I have a bad habit of breaking the mushrooms when I remove the stem), mix remaining ingredients together and let mushrooms sit in marinade for 15 minutes. Then, grill until mushrooms are tender.
